"Whistler Resort is a Wow". Nestled in the spectacular Coast Mountains of British Columbia, just 75 miles north of Vancouver lies Whistler Resort, a charming four seasons resort.
You will feel the crisp mountain air, look to crystal clear lakes and emerald forests. Whistler Resort serves up an active mix of cosmopolitan amenities and pristine beauty. Explore, experience and relax. See for yourself why Whistler is a world-class destination in summer.
Whistler's enchanting pedestrian alpine village is alive all summer long, with festive entertainment, intriguing shops and European style cafes. You can go hiking, biking and horseback riding fishing and summer snow skiing. I met a lot of people that came her to play tennis.
I found excellent value for your dollar on everything from Alpine sight-seeing tickets to wonderful gourmet meals. United Staters guests benefit from an exceptional exchange rate.
I was fortunate to stay at the Crystal Lodge Suites, impeccable upbeat and in the middle of everything. I had some wonderful meals.
I ate at the Wildflower Restaurant starting with vine ripened red and yellow tomatoes and local asparagus salad served with savory chervil tulle and a dressing of 15 year old balsamic vinegar and first press olive oil.
Our wines were all from British Columbia, a different wine with each dish. First wine was a Gray Monk 1997 Pinot Gris. The entree was pan roasted veal tenderloin and truffle scented sweet breads served with green beans and fresh BC chanterelles on a bed of carrot linguini served with a pinot noir and veal reduction. Our wine here was a Inniskillin Dark Horse Vineyard 1997 Pinot Noir.
Called Chateau Trio our dessert was Elderflower custard, granny Apple terrine and mini chocolate Elysium mille-feuille. This was accompanied by a Mission Hill grand reserve riesling ice wine.
For dinner we went to Joel's Restaurant at Nicklaus North. Joel has exquisite cuisine and he is famous for his fondue. My dinner was steamed mussels, house made crab cakes and pan seared sea bass. They give you a Cuban cigar to smoke by the fireplace, the men loved them, but I had to pass.
One day I went to the Sea ballroom at the Whistler Conference center where a gospel choir from Seattle was performing. They are a Whistler favorite.
Be sure to checkout the Whistler Jazz and Blues on the main stage in the Village. I woke up singing and went to sleep singing.
When the sun goes down, Whistler has something for everyone. A romantic candlelight dinner, an evening under the stars, friendly pubs, intimate lounges and wonderful nightclubs. And a bubbling hot tub awaits you at the end of the day.
Do get in touch with my Whistler contact, Laura Street at 604 938-2709. I loved Whistler and I know you will too.
