After our evening at Disneyland Resort's PCH Grill we came to the conclusion that it must be a very good place for a culinary career. We chatted with Banquet Chef Salvador Torres who has been with the Resort for 23 years. Then Russell Dollente, PCH Manager came by and in our discussion we learned this young man has been with Disney eight years. Our waiter, Ruffo Beailey, who showed both skill and enthusiasm, looked too young to be many years out of school.
PCH Grill serves as the dining room for the Paradise Pier Hotel offering a buffet breakfast and in the evening shows a downhome, all American menu. From the Grill items like half roasted chicken, Paradise BBQ Ribs, or a New York Steak with mushrooms and roasted red potatoes, which was our selection. We also eyed, rather wistfully, the fish and chips, always one of our favorites.
My dining partner chose the house dinner salad which came with a most tasty ranch dressing as an aside. (This writer always must taste everything that is set on the table). Her order was the Pepperoni Pizza. This arrived fresh from the wood burning oven and big enough for a 'take home' package as well.
There is also a 'Magical Meals for Kids' menu for children aged three to nine, with items like Mac & Cheese, Meatball Sandwich, Pizza or Chicken Breast. The regular menu also offers many tempting desserts. We decided to share the "Kilauea Molten apple pie which came with 'flows' of Vermont maple syrup and Dreyers ice cream.
PCH Grill offers casual dining with its open kitchen and equally casual decor. The staff presents quiet, friendly and most attentive service and the kitchen responds in timely fashion. Prices are modest and enticing for large families. It is open for breakfast and dinner seven days a week on the ground level of the Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland Resort, 1717 South Disneyland Drive, Anaheim.
