Twenty five years ago the Phoenicia was a small restaurant serving continental cuisine in Glendale, California by Chef/Owner Ara Kalfayan. Today, Ara has completely remolded the restaurant with a large dining room inside and two large tent covered patios with heaters for smoking. There is dinner and live band entertainment and a belly dance show on Friday and Saturday evenings. The cost is Friday $38 (pp) / Saturday $43 (pp) Indoor and Friday $32 (pp) / Saturday $36 (pp) Patio. The Menu: Cold Mezza; Hommos, Baba Ghanouj, Fattoush, Pickles, Olives, Cheese, Warak Enab, Mussaka, Kibbeh Naye, Basterma, Labni, Mouhammara. Hot Mezza; Cheese Boreg (rakakat), Kebbi Makli or Sambousek. Main Course; Shish Taouk, Beef Kafta, Rice Pilaf, Beef Kebob (mixed grill). There is also an A la Carte Menu in which to choose additional items for your dinning pleasure.
This Restaurant is known for an outstanding wine cellar and has over 700 wines from all over the world to make a selection to accompany your meal.
